There’s historic flooding on pretty much every River and creek in my area. The soil is completely saturated. The Brazos River is starting to threaten every subdivision near it. Mandatory evacuations abound. Oh look! Storms a-comin’!
If any Californians need some water, come on over; we gots plenty.

This is like three months ago, plus 10+ feet of water on the river ON TOP of the last ridiculous flood.
My house is good. Some friends’... Not so much.

My shower has been leaking for weeks because I haven’t had a good time to get maintenance in here. I’m not feeling too bad about wasting the water, we don’t seem to be in drought conditions here. Some coworkers are getting pretty tired of road closures though (their fault for living way the fuck out in the middle of nowhere).

That just visited us earlier this afternoon. We got 1" in about 30 minutes. Nature needs to figure this shit out and just give us what we need when we need it, not nothing for five years and then five years worth of rain in three months. That said, I’m glad it’s not 100 already.

I see Lake Travis is damn near 4' over full pool. All the Highland lakes are full and are opening their flood gates.

Which means that NOW is the time to start conserving. Yeah, like that’s going to happen.

I ain’t complaining. It’s keeping my pool full and water here in SA is expensive. But it really is getting rediculous.
Some perspective - just over one year ago in mid May 2015, Medina Lake was 4% full after years of drought. The boat ramps and park closed. People were selling lake houses at pennies on the dollar. I remember reading about a Jeep that cleanup crews found that had been submerged for something like 10 years.
Then on Memorial Day weekend 2015 the rain started and hasn’t really stopped. As of today the lake is 100% full and the Express-News headline was “Celebration Turns to Concern” over flooding. The area below the spillway is forming Medina Lake 2.0 in just 370 days.
Seriously, can we ship some of this to CA?

We got caught in that while at Fiesta Texas yesterday. So, that was fun. And then I sat on the bus back to El Paso soaked, along with the 42 high school students I had with me. You’d have thought it would have been miserable, they were worn out, so they just went to sleep.
All I could think was, "We just paid into Six Flags for enough time to ride two rides before the lighting shut-down system ended the day. Awesome." On the flip side, it's good to not be dead, though.
